bishop hooper - primary school - competative tender submission
The design for Bishops Hooper Primary, a small 0.5 form entry village school in Ashford Carbonell was completed as a competition entry. The scheme was based around integrating the school with the topography and earth sheltering the accommodation with grass roofs over the top and minimising its impact on the village and surroundings. Bright coloured sky lights poking through the roof marked out the classrooms in the landscape, as well as a simple white rendered entrance and school hall that gave the school an appropriate presence in its context.
Nick was responsible for design and submission whilst at adp.
